演讲人简介：

许立达院士现任美国Old Dominion University信息技术首席教授。该校原系威廉玛丽学院和弗吉尼亚理工大学的分校。许教授是欧洲科学院院士（工程学部）、俄罗斯工程院（原苏联工程院）院士、IEEE Fellow、中国工程院院刊《工程管理前沿》创刊共同主编、教育部长江学者。许立达院士现任上海交通大学特聘教授，曾任中国国务院发展研究中心研究员和中国科学院计算技术研究所研究员。许立达院士是国际上集成信息系统以及工业信息集成工程学科的主要开创者，担任IEEE和IFIP等国际组织的相关学科领导，曾两次受到习近平主席接见。

演讲内容简介：

Internet of Things (IoT) has provided a promising opportunity to build powerful industrial systems and applications by leveraging the growing ubiquity of radio-frequency identification (RFID), and wireless, mobile, and sensor devices. A wide range of industrial IoT applications have been developed and deployed in recent years. In an effort to understand the development of IoT in industries, this talk discusses the current research of IoT, key enabling technologies, major IoT applications in industries, and identifies research trends and challenges. The talk also discusses 4G/5G IoT and their relationship with Industry 4.0 and Made in China 2025.
