In the morning of Oct. 26, Dr. Ludovit Garzik, the CEO of Austrian council for research and technology development, visited the school of management, Shanghai University. Dr. Garzik introduced the progressing and status of the cross continental innovation culture training program which has been prepared since last year with Shanghai University. Prof. You supported the advance of the program and pointed out that the key to develop Shanghai to be the Innovation Center is the talents. It depends on the city ecology to attract innovative talents. The university should be the crucial platform to gather and mobile talents. The cooperation of the three continents will be great helpful to construct high standard talent’s gathering and growth. The school of management of Shanghai University will support the development of this project by integrating the advantage resources from all parts to lead the healthy growth of talents and actively service for the strategy to develop Shanghai to be the international innovation center. On top of this, Dr. Garzik and Prof. You discussed other cooperation potentials between the two parties including academic exchange, research communication and technology transfer.
In the afternoon, Dr. Garzik gave an academic presentation named "Innovation Culture in Asia, Europe and the USA with a special case study in Regional Innovation Systems". Dr. Garzik compared the innovation cultures in different regions in Asia, Europe and the US, and analyzed the causes and results based on triple helix module. After the presentation, Dr. Garzik answered the questions raised by the audience and continued the intense discussion. Finally, Prof. Zhen Lu, Vice Dean of School of Management issued appointment letter to Dr. Garzik, to formally approve Dr. Garzik to work as Guest Professor in the school. This will largely contribute the internationalization process for our school.
